Julia

julia started school at the age of 6, and she liked it. too much maybe; she is still studying. julia collects degrees like some people collect china figurines, silver spoons, or cigar bands. she will soon obtain her fourth degree. in high school she majored in cinematography. after graduation, she studied graphic design and visual arts at the rietveld academy, in amsterdam. then she concurrently obtained a master's degree in design from the sandberg institute, and a bachelor's degree in literature, from uva (university of amsterdam). the two very different disciplines resulted in her writing a unique travel guide, enabling the traveler to 'disappear,' or 'get lost,' in europe. presently, she is completing her master's degree in literature at uva, and publishing the travel guide.

In addition to her academic career Julia has developed as a visual artist and vj. In 2006 she participated in the group exhibition ‘roam is my home’ in the centraal museum in utrecht, and the multimedia event ‘new nature show’ in the paradiso, in amsterdam. she has a weekly vj night at the melkweg club in amsterdam, and performs at events such as the 'awakenings festival,' 'amsterdam dance event,' and many others.
